Access to Membership

The Gaymber is committed to building a business community that is welcoming, diverse, and representative of the people it serves. We recognize that standard membership dues can be a barrier for some small businesses and entrepreneurs, particularly during certain stages of growth.

Sponsored memberships exist to help remove that barrier. They provide full access to Gaymber membership for eligible Small Business applicants, with no difference in benefits, participation, or standing within the organization.

Sponsored memberships offer the same benefits and opportunities as a standard Small Business membership. This includes access to networking events, educational programming, member communications, and participation in the broader Gaymber community.

Sponsored members are full members of the Gaymber, with the same rights and expectations as any other Small Business member.

Sponsored memberships are intended for Small Business applicants for whom membership dues present a financial barrier. This may include new businesses, sole proprietors, or entrepreneurs navigating periods of transition or limited resources.

Applying for a sponsored membership is optional and confidential. Choosing this path does not affect how a member participates in or is recognized within the Gaymber. Nobody outside of the Board of Directors and Gaymber staff will know you have a sponsored membership unless you tell them.

 Interested businesses may opt in to be considered for a sponsored membership through a brief application process. Applications focus on understanding need and alignment with the Gaymber’s mission, rather than extensive financial documentation.

Applications are reviewed by the Board at their monthly meeting and awarded on a rolling basis throughout the year based on available sponsorship funds.

Recipients of sponsored memberships are recognized as full Gaymber members with all associated rights and benefits. Sponsors who underwrite these memberships are acknowledged publicly for their support.

Applicant/recipient names are not shared by the Gaymber with anyone outside of Gaymber staff and the Board of Directors. Privacy and dignity are central to how this program is administered. Applicants and recipients are free to disclose their sponsored status to anyone if they so choose.

Sponsored memberships are reviewed and awarded on a rolling basis as sponsorship funds become available throughout the year. Availability may vary depending on current sponsorship levels.
